Teen Therapy

Therapy for the things that are harder to untangle alone.

Adolescence can bring anxiety, conflict, pressure, uncertainty, and changes that are difficult to put into words.

Considering Therapy?

01. What to expect

Teen therapy isn't about being told what to do or having someone take sides. It's a space for teenagers to explore what's happening in their lives, better understand their emotions, and navigate challenges at home, school, and in relationships. Sessions encourage honest conversations, self-exploration, and practical skills to support emotional well-being.

02. Is the fit right?

My approach is relational, developmentally informed, and collaborative. I help teens navigate anxiety, self-esteem, emotional regulation, friendships, and family relationships while developing a stronger understanding of themselves and greater confidence in navigating life's challenges.

03. The logistics

Sessions are offered virtually to teens throughout Texas. We'll begin with a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your concerns, answer questions, and determine whether working together feels like a good fit. Parents and guardians are involved in the initial process, with appropriate attention to the teenager's privacy, confidentiality, and developmental needs.

Why now

Growing up changes more than you can see.

Academic pressure, friendships, identity, family expectations, self-doubt, emotional overwhelm, and the growing desire for independence.

Early Support

Teenagers don't always have the words to explain what they're experiencing. Sometimes, emotional struggles show up as irritability, withdrawal, changes in motivation, conflict at home, or difficulty connecting with others.

What may look like a passing phase can sometimes be a sign that a teenager is struggling more than they know how to communicate. When these experiences go unaddressed, they can begin affecting self-esteem, relationships, school, and how young people see themselves.

Early support creates an opportunity to help teens understand their emotions, develop healthier ways of coping, and navigate challenges before they become more difficult to manage.

You don't have to wait until your teenager is in crisis to reach out. Sometimes, the most important time to seek support is when you first notice something has changed.

Sessions available in English and Portuguese.

What Therapy is Like

I believe teenagers deserve to be taken seriously, listened to, and understood without feeling judged or defined by their struggles. My approach focuses on building a therapeutic relationship where teens feel comfortable exploring their experiences, expressing difficult emotions, and developing a better understanding of themselves.

Drawing from relational approaches, attachment theory, CBT, ACT, and trauma-informed care, our work may involve understanding emotional responses, challenging unhelpful thinking, strengthening self-worth, and developing practical skills for navigating everyday challenges.

Parents and caregivers can be important partners in the therapeutic process. When appropriate, we can explore family dynamics, communication, and ways to support progress outside the therapy room while respecting the teenager's confidentiality.

Therapy isn't about changing who a teenager is. It's about helping them understand themselves, build confidence, and develop the tools to navigate life with greater emotional awareness and independence.
